EB-2 vs. EB-3

 

EB-2 (Second Preference)

​

  • Professionals with an advanced degree or a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of progressive experience

  • Individuals with exceptional ability in arts, sciences, or business

  • May qualify for a National Interest Waiver (NIW), allowing self-petition without employer sponsorship

 

EB-3 (Third Preference)

​

  • Skilled workers requiring at least 2 years of experience or training

  • Professionals with a bachelor’s degree

  • Certain other workers with less than 2 years of experience, if qualified U.S. workers are unavailable
